The President of the United States is one of the two government officials of the United States (the other being the Vice President of the United States of America elected to represent the entire nation. The president serves as the chief executive officer of the federal government, heads the executive branch, and commands the armed forces. The president may make treaties with other nations, with the advice and consent of two-thirds of the Senate. The president also appoints, with Senate consent, diplomatic representatives, Supreme Court judges, and many other officials.
