Details

The Akron Zips men's soccer team, ranked number one throughout the 2009 regular season, went undefeated, making it to the NCAA Men's Division I Soccer Championship. They lost to the University of Virginia Cavaliers. They rebounded the following season by capturing the 2010 "College Cup" against the University of Louisville, winning 1 - 0 on a 79th minute goal by Scott Caldwell. This was the first NCAA national team championship won by the University of Akron.
